Ms. Kitty

Kitty 老师 was born and raised in Shaanxi, China. She graduated from the prestigious Xi’an Foreign Language University with a bachelor’s degree in English (International Trade). After earning her degree, Kitty taught high school and college English in Shanghai for seven years. Kitty has extensive experience working as a certified translator and simultaneous interpreter of English and Chinese.

Kitty 老师 moved to the U.S in 2010 to teach Chinese. Since then she has been teaching Chinese to students of diverse age groups and backgrounds. She believes “interest” is the key to learning Chinese. She teaches not only vocabulary and grammar, but also aspects of culture. She introduces students to Chinese calligraphy, painting, chess, dance, musical instruments, children's TV shows, songs, and classical books to build up their ability and motivation for continuous learning outside of the classroom.

In her spare time, Kitty enjoys her many hobbies, including dancing, hiking, biking, painting, sewing, and playing music instruments.
