Assistant Elementary Guide

Ms. Seema is an educator with 19 years of experience working with kids to develop a

passion for learning and to be global thinkers. She grew up in Houston, Tx and attended

college there at the University of St. Thomas. She graduated with a degree in elementary

education. She then continued at the university with her graduate studies in gifted and talented education to earn her master’s degree.

After graduation, she taught seventh grade English in Pasadena, Tx, a suburb within

Houston. At this time, she met her husband, and in 1997 moved to the wonderful city of Austin,

which became their home. In Austin, she worked in Leander ISD, first at the middle school level teaching English and then teaching at the elementary level.

In 2001, Ms. Seema left teaching with the birth of her first son and stayed at home for

the next decade with raising her 2 boys.

Since her return to teaching in 2013, Ms. Seema has been working and teaching

within the gifted education program in Leander ISD. She is passionate about supporting kids'

love of thinking and exploring, project based learning, and creating opportunities in which

students have meaningful and fun learning experiences.

In her spare time, Ms. Seema and her husband love to travel and spend time with their

family. She loves having her 2 adult sons visit for family game nights or to have all their cousins over for a movie night. One of her favorite sounds is the lively discussions and laughter in the house with the family.
